Responsibilities
  • Support police officers in day-to-day law enforcement activities, including patrols, crime prevention initiatives, and community engagement programs.
  • Assist with conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and preparing case files under the guidance of experienced investigators.
  • Participate in crime scene management, including evidence collection, preservation, and documentation.
  • Aid in the administration of the criminal justice system by assisting with recordkeeping, report writing, and data analysis.
  • Contribute to community policing initiatives, collaborating with local residents and organizations to address community safety concerns.
  • Assist with public awareness campaigns and educational programs to promote crime prevention and public safety.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge of policing techniques, laws, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including forensic experts, legal professionals, and social workers, to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Adhere to the professional standards, code of conduct, and ethical guidelines established by SAPS.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to assigned tasks and duties.
Qualifications
  • South African citizenship is mandatory.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant degree or diploma program in fields such as criminology, law, forensic science, psychology, sociology, or related disciplines.
  • Strong academic record and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in law enforcement or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues and members of the community.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and challenging environment with a high level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license (preferred but not mandatory).
